A bit about Abby
Abby is a gentle, approachable, encouraging and generous person who loves to share the knowledge she has gathered over a 20-year journey through the world of natural medicine. She is passionate about wellness and never stops training and learning.
Abby formerly worked as a professional in the financial services and technology industries so has experience of the pressures involved in the commercial and corporate worlds. As a small business owner with broad experience, Abby has a great ability to understand and adapt to the needs of her clients.
Besides Qigong and Sound Therapy, Abby is also qualified and certified in many other natural therapies and applies these knowledge and skills in her offerings as appropriate. Some of the modalities that Abby is certified in are – Transpersonal Clinical hypnotherapy, Transpersonal Counselling, Psychosomatic Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Life Coaching.
Abby constantly seeks out ways of matching wellness practice with people who can benefit. Over the years she has grown her own knowledge and has helped introduce healthy practices to those around her. She believes in empowering individuals to tap into their own inner resources for self healing, self development and maintain overall wellness. Abby is sought out by people for the way she curates and shares wellness.
In her group classes, Abby creates a beautifully warm, calm, relaxed and sometimes playful environment where people at all stages of their own personal journey feel welcome like they are in the right place.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese holistic system that incorporates body posture, movements, breathing methods and meditation. It is practiced as an exercise, relaxation, illness prevention, self healing, martial arts training and spiritual development.
Abby is a 6th generation disciple of Ziranmen under the 5th generation Lineage holder Master Liu Deming. She is a Master Instructor of Ziran Qigong certified by Master Liu Deming. She has been practising Qigong and Tai Chi since 2005 and teaching since 2009. Besides training under the direct guidance of Master Liu Deming, Abby has also trained with masters and teachers in Australia, China, Taiwan and Thailand.
Abby’s approach to Qigong
In Abby’s weekly Qigong class, you will learn foundational movements to open and align the body followed by a sequence of gentle mindful fluid movements synchronized to deep rhythmic breath. In a typical class, you will be standing for most of the class. If time and venue permits, there will be a 10-15 minutes sound meditation to conclude the session. You may sit or lie down for the meditation. Her group class runs for 1.5 hours.
